Even as a child, Laura Dulay knew she wanted to be a salon owner when she grew up. But the path to achieving her dream wasn’t straight and simple—it was full of twists and turns that led her to where she is today—the owner of not just one salon, but three thriving businesses in central Florida.

Born and raised in New Jersey, Laura attended college for a year after graduating high school. In that year she learned two important lessons: College wasn’t for her, and neither was New Jersey.

She left school and enrolled in the Joe Blasco Makeup Artist Training Center in Orlando to pursue her passion for the beauty business and her preference for sunshine.

In the beginning, working in a salon held little appeal: Laura’s goal was to be behind the camera, working on set. At school, she honed her makeup skills and learned to style hair. After graduation, she hit the ground running, working for Michael Cairns, a Florida photographer specializing in commercial/lifestyle/entertainment shoots.

Her career as a makeup artist and stylist on shoots took off from there, and Laura worked for companies like Home Shopping Network, Miller Brewing Company, Wella and others. Her jobs took her all over the world, traveling a couple weeks out of every month

In the mid 2000s, Laura married and started a family, and decided to pursue her original dream of salon ownership. She took a job at the Ritz Carlton salon in Orlando to learn their high standard of customer service, getting trained in several positions.

During this time, she got her cosmetology license at the Aveda Institute in Winter Park, Florida, and then went on to work at an Aveda salon before opening up her first Salon Dulay location in 2012. And in 2020, during a global pandemic, she opened her second and third locations, which are now thriving.

Laura’s career has always been driven by people. In the beginning, she was motivated by the joy her clients experienced after their hair and makeup transformations. Now, it’s her employees who drive her ambition and growth.

She loves coaching her team to hit their own professional and personal goals, and prides herself on being a present, engaged leader.

In her personal life, Laura also challenges herself. As a single mom, she carves out quality time with her daughter doing what they love: Scuba diving. Together, they explore the ocean, even going on shark dives to view different species of their favorite fish.

Laura always strives for growth and knowledge, whether it’s in her business or under the sea. Her next endeavor is becoming an educator. After growing leaders in her own business, she’s excited to help other owners grow leaders in their salons.

Moriah

Moriah was a military brat who was born in Germany and moved to Orlando in 2010 with her husband and two sons. She has been a part of the Aveda network for 10 years and is passionate about the Aveda mission and creating incredible experiences for every guest.

Emily

Customer Service
She/Her

Emily was born and raised in South Florida, but relocated to Orlando in 2016.  She has always been passionate about making others feel beautiful on the inside and out, whether it is with hair or makeup.  Along with her extensive customer service background, becoming a receptionist at Salon Dulay was a perfect way to get started in the industry.  She is planning to go to the Aveda Institute in the fall and is excited to grow with the Salon Dulay family!

Cindy

Colorist Level 4, Stylist Level 5
She/Her

Cindy was born in Detroit, Michigan and grew up in Allen Park.  She has wanted to be a hairdresser since the 4th grade, and never wavered from that dream! Cindy chose to go to Detroit Barber College because she wanted to get into more modern hair styling.  Cindy loves staying fit by doing Zumba and enjoys attending art fairs and going to the beach.  She loves cooking, especially her heritage of Italian food. Cindy is a precision hair cutter and a master in razor cutting.  She also loves highlighting, perms, waxing and special event styling.

Linda

Colorist Level 4, Stylist Level 5
She/Her

Linda became a hairstylist in 1985 after being inspired by some of her close friends in the industry. She is originally from New Jersey and has worked and trained at Aveda Institutes in Philadelphia and New Jersey. She relocated to Orlando, Florida in 1994 with her husband and two daughters. Linda worked for Salon Salon for 23 years where she had extensive training in Aveda, Goldwell and Bumble & Bumble.  Linda is most passionate about Aveda, because it is a salon spa experience for every guest. She specializes in color, perms, smoothing treatments, special event styles, hair extensions and advanced cutting techniques- from short bobs to long layers to men’s cutting.  When Linda is not working, she enjoys gardening, exercising, being with my family and friends, traveling to Europe and enjoying the different cultures and foods.

Davina

Colorist Level 3.5, Stylist Level 4.5
She/Her

Davina has been with the Aveda family since 2007. She received her education from the Aveda Institute of Tallahassee where she also attended FSU.  She loves taking the time to talk to you and customizing a look that fits your lifestyle and makes you feel great! She is proficient in Global Keratin treatments and VOMOR extensions. Come in today and have her help you boost your day!

Dee

Colorist Level 3, Stylist Level 4
She/Her

Hairstyling is in Dee’s DNA!  There are four generations of hairstylists in her family and she was most inspired by her father who was a big platform artist who specialized in Macel Waves.  Her family also owned a cosmetology school and Dee’s father made sure all of his children learned the trade.  Dee is a master at short ladies cuts and perms.  She also specializes in special event updos, single colors and highlighting.  In her free time, Dee enjoys working out, reading, doing puzzles and cooking.  Dee’s daily goal is to do better each day than the last!

Sarah

Colorist Level 3, Stylist Level 4
She/Her

Sarah is originally from Indiana and has lived in the Orlando area since 2012. Sarah has always had a passion for all things beauty starting from when she was a little girl. From doing her grandmother’s hair and makeup on the front porch, to styling hair for proms and weddings, these led her to attend cosmetology school. She attended the Aveda Institute of Orlando, which she graduated from in 2014, and has been doing hair behind the chair ever since. She loves to expand her knowledge of the beauty industry by learning from others and strives to make every experience for her guests unique and personalized. She is certified in Global Keratin treatments and creating volume and length with Vomor extensions. Sarah loves blonding, balayage and major transformations, but her true passion is making her guests feel beautiful no matter what.

Lauren

Colorist Level 3, Stylist Level 4
She/Her

Lauren is passionate about making each and every guest feel welcome, rejuvenated and confident after each visit. She began her career as a stylist at the Aveda institute in Clearwater when she was 18. After working at an Aveda salon in Tampa she relocated to Orlando to further her career and pursue her bachelors degree. Lauren has worked with many local photographers, designers, and bridal crews on shoots and fashion shows and even attended New York Fashion Week. She has a passion for education and mentorship in her salon and helped lead Rizzieri Orlando’s Assistant Program.  Lauren specializes in blonding services, trend cuts, keratin treatments, extensions, and bridal updos.  She treats every guest like family and makes sure all of her clients feel beautiful, both inside and out.

Filo

Stylist Level 4

Born and raised in New York City, Filomena, lovingly known by all as Filo, graduated from Arrojo Cosmetology School in 2017. She began her career at the Red Door Salon on 5th Avenue where she refined her skills as a cutting specialist alongside some of New York’s greatest hairstylists. In September 2020, Filo traded her skyscrapers for palm trees and moved down to sunny Orlando with her fiance, Chris and their two dogs, Moe and Zoey. Filo enjoys working with all textures and has an affinity for bobs and curls. She also specializes in men’s cuts as she is a licensed barber. Filo aspires to create a warm and memorable experience for all of her guests at Salon Dulay!

Cristina

Colorist Level 3, Stylist Level 4
She/Her

Cristina is from Michigan and graduated from Douglas J Aveda institute in 2010.  She moved to Florida in 2018 and loves creating a whole look for her clients- cut, color and style. She is most passionate about blondes, balayages, and highlights and also enjoys working with curly hair. Cristina is always ready to learn new techniques and classes are very important to her.  Her favorite part of her career is making people feel good about themselves.

Alexandra

Colorist Level 3, Stylist Level 4
She/Her

I grew up as an artist, painting and drawing but was always very interested in the fashion and beauty industry. Viewing hair and makeup as an art form. Coming from a family who practices holistic medicine I gravitated towards Aveda for it’s naturally derived ingredients and focus on wellness. Originally from New York and raised in Pennsylvania, I moved to Orlando to be closer to family and attended the Aveda Institute where I’d find my passion for the beauty industry. In my free time I always find it important to spend quality time with friends and family as well as practicing and perfecting my craft. I specialize in blondes and balayage as well as short and men’s cuts.

Jamilla

Colorist Level 2.5, Stylist Level 3.5
She/Her

Jamilla was born in Maryland but raised in Central Florida since the age of five.  While obtaining her bachelors degree Jamilla found herself being asked to mimic the styling of her hair on to others.  This was when she began to grow a passion for her craft.  Upon graduating college, she began cosmetology school.  While still in cosmetology school, Jamilla began working as an assistant at an Aveda salon and soon after graduating from the Aveda Orlando Institute in 2015, she began working behind the chair.  Jamilla has a passion for wowing her guests with her attention to detail.  She is very familiar with curly textured hair, although she loves working with all textures.  Jamilla specializes in long hair cuts, blonding and balayage.

Alexis

Colorist Level 2, Stylist Level 3
She/Her

Alexis has been a Central Florida resident since she was four years old. She graduated from the Aveda institute in Winter Park Florida. Alexis is married to her high school sweetheart and is a proud dog and cat mom who loves hiking and being surrounded by nature. Alexis loves dimensional color, lived in blondes, balayage, and curly hair. She also has vast product knowledge and loves teaching others how to care for their hair. Most importantly, she loves making people fall in love with their hair.

Brittany

Colorist Level 2, Stylist Level 3
She/Her

Born in Gainesville, Fl, Brittany moved to Orlando in 2013 to work for the Walt Disney World Resort for 5 years, making magic and spreading pixie dust. She was part of the Marion Performing Ballet growing up, and had a knack for helping her fellow performers with their updos and makeup for shows, which is where she first fell in love with all things beauty related. Brittany graduated from the Aveda Institute in 2017, and trained for a year and half as a salon assistant before going behind the chair. She loves doing makeup, updos, pixie cuts, and funky colors. In Brittany’s free time, you can find her cuddling with her dogs or dancing in her living room to Lady Gaga.

Maddasun

Colorist Level 1.5, Stylist Level 1.5
She/Her

Maddie was born and raised in central Florida and graduated from Aveda Institute of Orlando in 2016. Growing up with five younger sisters, Maddie has always enjoyed styling, cutting and even coloring hair. She is very artistic both inside and outside of the salon, spending a lot of her free time painting, drawing and making crafts. Since graduating from cosmetology school, Maddie has actively worked behind the chair practicing techniques for different trending colors and styles of hair. She loves doing vivid fashion colors, balayage, and adding fun tones to all cuts and styles of hair. Maddie is passionate about making sure all of her clients leave the salon feeling relaxed and absolutely in love with their new look!

Danielle

Colorist Level 1.5, Stylist Level 1.5
She/Her

Danielle was born and raised in the small town of Lake Placid, Florida where she attended college to follow her dream to become a Marine Biologist and moved her way to Orlando to finish school as well as broaden her horizons in the Cosmetology field. After seeing all that the town had to offer she decided to let out her more artistic side and obtain a Cosmetology license to showcase her edgy style of cutting and makeup artistry. She seeks to learn and grow within Salon Dulay, not only in hopes of one day to become a master stylist but to be the best support system and role model for her daughter that she can be.

Madalyn

Madalyn moved to the Orlando area in 2015. In 2020, she decided to follow her passion for beauty and wellness and chose Aveda for their natural and environmentally friendly products. Madalyn graduated from Aveda Institute Orlando in 2021 and in her down time, enjoys spending time with family, friends and her dog. She loves learning and is excited to advance her knowledge and grow in the cosmetology world at Salon Dulay Aveda.

Linh

Level 1 Stylist

Linh is originally from Vietnam and grew up in a big family full of women. Her main motivation and biggest blessing are her two children. Her passion is to help make others a better version of themselves. Linh loves to learn and grow, so that she can give her guests the best possible service. Her mom always said, “If you look good, you feel good!” That is how Linh always wants her guests to feel!

Devon

Level 1 Colorist

Devon was born in Maryland, but has lived most of their life in Orlando.  They have always had a love of the theater which brought them into the drag industry for four years.  Wanting to expand from wigs to actual hair, they attended the Aveda Institute Orlando and graduated in 2021.  This is where they found their passion for color and extensions.  They are excited to bring everyone’s inner beauty to the outside- one smile at a time!
