Laura has been in the beauty industry since graduating high school. She moved from NJ to Orlando to work as a freelance hair and makeup artist for television and photography. She has travelled the world performing her craft and has done hair and makeup for companies like Home Shopping Network, Miller Brewing Company, Wella and Sally Beauty. She also worked in the salon at the Ritz Carlton, where she specialized in making brides radiant. Laura graduated from the Aveda Institute and has attended continuing education classes from Vidal Sassoon and Aveda. Laura is passionate about making sure every guest to Salon Dulay has a relaxing and rejuvenating experience and loves their hair!
Originally from Ohio, Shelly relocated to Orlando with her family 2 ½ years ago after spending the previous 12 years in Charlotte, NC. She has spent most of her life in retail management, and has worked with brands such as Starbucks, The Walt Disney Co., and most recently Margaritaville at Universal Orlando. Having previous salon experience, Shelly is excited to bring her passion for customer service to Salon Dulay. Shelly resides in Windermere with her husband of 21 years and their 2 teenage daughters.
Level 6 Stylist
Originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, Kayra’s passion for beauty came to life at a very early age, and she has now been practicing for over ten years. She is proficient in natural hair, relaxers, various extension applications, precision haircutting and fabulous blowouts.
Her career has given her multiple opportunities such as being part of the behind the scenes of The Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant (2006), where they were so impressed with her, that they asked her back the following year. Two years later, she participated in Orlando’s fashion week of 2008, where she got to style the host, Finola Hughes, from the Style Network TV Show “How Do I Look”. In July 2012, Kayra aired on CNN Miami on a show called “Notimujer”, where she spoke on makeup techniques for women who wear glasses. And in the summer of 2013, her work was published in a 10-page spread on Like magazine.
Kayra now combines her continued advanced education with her creativity to give her clients an individualized, personalized haircut and style that fits their personality and lifestyle. So whether you want something fresh and new, classic or trendy, expect to be pleased with the experience as well as the result!

Brandon is a graduate of the Aveda Institute, and he is one of the cutting educators at Salon Dulay. His specialties include men’s cuts, undercuts and women’s short cuts. He loves making over and correcting styles. His high energy and big smile will always be here to greet you! He performed with Walt Disney World for seven years, as well as onboard Royal Caribbean’s Oasis. Hair is just another way for him to express his passion for the arts!

Melanie is originally from Connecticut, but has lived in Orlando for most of her life. Ever since she can remember, she was always asked by her family and friends to do their hair and makeup. She graduated from the Aveda Institute in 2013 and she is a makeup and brow expert and is very passionate about cutting and styling. Melanie also speaks Spanish and has experience working with textured hair. She has always has a strong passion for making people look and feel their best!
Level 3 Stylist
Cleo has been with Salon Dulay since January of 2014. She was Aveda’s 2013 full tuition Scholarship winner and she continues to challenge herself daily to master and perfect her skills. With a love for change she has become Salon Dulays’ Extension educator and has made hair extensions her specialty. Creating change and helping her guest achieve their dream look is what drives her passion. She is constantly learning and keeping up with the latest trends but most importantly her goal is to offer insight to her guests about how to properly care for their hair so that they are able to achieve their desired results. Her love for beauty extends to makeup, bridal styles and much more. She is caring and gentle and will always listen to her guests allowing her to deliver optimal results and make her guests visions come to life.

Vanessa is an Aveda graduate that believes strongly in Aveda’s mission, which includes giving back to society and making environmentally conscious decisions. Because of her customer service background, Vanessa takes excellent care of her guests and loves making them feel welcomed and pampered. Vanessa has a great eye for art and beauty that translates into amazing styles for her guests!

Gabi is an Aveda Institute graduate that was born and raised in Iowa. She decided to move to Florida, because she enjoys going to the beach, fishing and boating in her free time. As well as being a cutting specialist, Gabi also loves doing makeup and facial waxing. Gabi speaks English and Spanish.

Lauren’s passions include education, fashion, and making her guests feel warm and beautiful. Born and raised in Ohio, she attended the University of Cincinnati prior to moving to Orlando and graduating from the Aveda Institute. She has worked with many fashion designers from across the globe at New York and London Fashion Weeks, including Oscar de la Renta, Naeem Khan, Nike, Nicopanda, Levi’s, among many more. Lauren is one of the cut and style educators at Salon Dulay, and loves working together with her guests in not only achieving their desired results, but in educating them how to re-create the look at home.

Yari graduated from Aveda Institute and believes strongly in the Aveda mission. Her whole life she has been drawn to the art of hair and makeup. She has always dreamt of being able to help people get the exact look they want and make people feel great about themselves. Education is very important to her, from educating the guest on products and styling, to taking classes that challenge and further educate her. Making people feel beautiful inside and out is her goal for everyone who visits Salon Dulay.

Pilar has always had a passion for the beauty world since she could remember. After graduating from the Aveda Institute Masters program in Orlando, she has jumped into furthering her education at Salon Dulay. Pilar has a background in art, so incorporating art into her everyday interactions with hair and makeup is key. Pilar specializes in cutting hair, skin care, and shaping and perfecting eyebrows. Overall, being able to bring art to the salon is what drives Pilar to keep inspiring her guests and herself.

Christy is excited to join the Salon Dulay team! She has recently moved from NYC, where she attended the Aveda Institute of New York. Having been a dancer and performer for years, Christy has always had a passion for makeup and hair styling. She went back to school for cosmetology and her journey has been an exciting new adventure. Her passions are cutting, styling and weddings. She has devoted a lot of time to her education to give her clients beautiful cuts suited for their face and lifestyle.

Zella hails from the one and only Windy City, Chicago. After completing comprehensive training at the Aveda Institute in Orlando, Zella looks forward to finally bringing her passion, creativity and forward-thinking style to life, traits that have long been her cherished trademarks. While honoring Aveda’s mission for environmental consciousness, Zella treats her clients just as well as she does the environment around her.

Joey is originally from New Jersey and has recently moved to Orlando to pursue a career in Cosmetology. He graduated from the Aveda Institute and is eager to begin his career at Salon Dulay. His passion is cutting and styling hair. Ever since he was little he would style his family members’ hair for special events and holidays. Joey has an eye for art and can’t wait to make all of his guests feel happy and beautiful!
Level 3 Colorist
Amanda is a master colorist and an Aveda Certified Educator. She trained at The Aveda Institute Tallahassee and also completed The Aveda Institute’s Masters Program. A “native Floridian”, Amanda has lived in several of Florida’s beautiful cities. After graduation she relocated to the Greater Orlando Area, where she has lived and worked for her entire career. Amanda has continued her education through Aveda as her career has progressed and strongly believes that in order to grow as a stylist and stay relevant in the industry stylists must maintain a high level of education. In accordance with this philosophy, she attends multiple classes every quarter through The Aveda Advanced Education Academy. She has extensive training in Aveda color as well as a plethora of hair coloring techniques. She is passionate about her guests (and their hair), fashion, and education. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Amanda’s ultimate goal is to become a platform artist for Aveda.

Ever since Bernice can remember, hair has been a huge part of her life. Growing up in Puerto Rico, her father has been a barber since the age of 14. She grew up in the barber shop loving the smell of hair product. Bernice never thought she would be doing this for a living, although she always had a natural talent and a true passion and honor to provide excellent service to each person she comes in contact with. She has been licensed since 2003 and has worked with Aveda for 7 years, specializing in color. Aveda is not only an amazing company, but is also a way of living and Bernice enjoys being a part of it. She feels most comfortable behind the chair and is inspired by color and enhancing the beauty that is already in each person. Bernice is a proud wife and mother of 2. Hair coloring is her passion and she guarantees a great experience!

Nicole is a native Floridian who was born and raised in Kissimmee, FL. Her family relocated to Lakeland, Florida when she was 17, and it was there that she finished high school and earned her cosmetology license. She went on to work for six and a half years at an Aveda salon and has attended numerous advanced classes at Aveda while being trained under an Aveda color educator. She is also a student at UCF in pursuit of a BA in Religion and Cultural Studies. Her two passions in life are hair color and learning and studying about other cultures around the world.

Tabby was raised in Orlando and is an Aveda graduate. She loves learning new coloring techniques and loves giving guests a fresh new look. Tabby also enjoys challenging herself with corrective color and takes great care of her guests. She has been doing special event makeup and updos since her teens. Tabby loves working with brides and anyone going to a special event to give them a customized, beautiful look!

Lauren is originally from Naples, Florida and recently re-located to the Orlando area. From a young age Lauren was passionate about the creativity displayed by hair stylists, and knew this would be her career. After earning her cosmetology license as soon as the opportunity was available, Lauren began her career at an Aveda salon in 2011. There she had the opportunity to learn from a master stylist to hone her skills in addition to attending multiple Aveda classes as she sought to further advance her education. Lauren has a passion for blondes, balayage, and for creating special occasion styles.

Monique believes that the best part of life is making people feel special. Creating and formulating a unique look for each guest to enhance the beauty that each of them already exudes is her ultimate goal. As a fourth generation hairdresser, there is no denying she was born to live out her passion and share her talents with the world.
Level 1.5 Colorist
With an Armenian background and raised in Tallinn,Estonia, Nonna Akopjan spent time around her uncle who owned a recognized and very busy hair salon, became passionate about beauty and fashion at a very early age, and pursued this passion years later by earning a degree at the Aveda Institute Orlando. Choosing her mentors carefully, followed the works of Amanda, Nonna gained significant technical expertise by serving as an assistant for one year, mostly under Amanda herself as she continued to take additional courses as a result of her dedication to perfection.
Nonna’s dedication to providing superb service and creating spot-on results for her clients is second to none. She applies precision and skill to any work she undertakes, from simple processes such as highlights, to unique and complex solutions such as color corrections. Whether her clients are blondes, brunettes, red heads or somewhere in between, Nonna has the ability to work with all hair types and colors. And most importantly, she excels at consistently keeping her clients highly satisfied. Nonna joined the Salon Dulay Team as a colorist in late 2015.

Kelsey was born and raised in Michigan and received her education at the Douglas J Aveda institute of Ann Arbor in 2014. Being a lover of sunshine and warm weather, she made the move to Orlando and is looking forward to starting her career in the sunshine state. Kelsey takes pride in the Aveda rituals and providing guests with an overall relaxing experience.
Level 1 Colorist
Sandy is a Michigan native who moved to Florida in 2014 and decided to change careers, following her passion for cosmetology. She is an Aveda Institute graduate and believes in continuing education throughout one’s career. Sandy has a love for color and all things Aveda. She has a calm, engaging presence and enjoys connecting with each and every guest.
Margerie Montoya was born in Los Angeles, California and raised in Orlando. She has been an Aveda graduate and licensed cosmetologist since 2013, and is currently the lead assistant at Salon Dulay. Besides making others feel beautiful Margerie, has a passion for being outdoors, animals, and making people laugh. You usually can find her personally assisting our master stylist Jason Feria because they make a great team together.
Jacquline was born and raised in Windermere, Florida, and is an Aveda Institute graduate. Growing up, Jacquline always had a passion for doing hair for family and friends, which led her to furthering her education by attending cosmetology school. Jacquline enjoys being able to create sleek styles, striving to make each and every guest feel beautiful. Jacquline also has experience working with textured hair and is trained in Brazilian Blowout and VoMor™ hair extensions.
Originally from Pensacola, Florida, Jasmine relocated to the Orlando area to attend the Aveda Institute and follow her passion for hair color.
Jasmine believes in the Aveda mission, to care for our world, and prides herself on providing uncompromising levels of quality service to her guests. She enjoys nature, yoga, and children, and she loves working with fashion colors and highly textured hair.
Cristalis was born and raised in New York where she spent most of her childhood watching her aunts do hair in a beauty salon. Cristalis graduated from the Aveda Institute where she grew to love color. She plans to further her color education to provide exceptional service.
Sarah recently moved from the beaches of Long Island, New York to central Florida. She always knew she had a love for hair but didn’t know what it would turn into—finding Aveda as a company has been a dream. She recently graduated from the Aveda Institute and is a licensed cosmetologist. She enjoys learning from all of the stylists and colorists and can’t wait to begin playing with colors behind the chair at Salon Dulay.
Stephanie grew up with a true admiration for the arts. She found herself naturally gravitating towards the world of theatre, a medium of storytelling that she fell in love with. It was only a matter of following her intuition that led her to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Technical Theatre from Florida Southern College. There, the pursuit of costuming led to the appreciation of the beauty industry and Stephanie was advised by mentors to look into the Aveda Institute. Always a supporter of the creativity found in self-expression, she ultimately graduated with her cosmetology license, with an intent towards hair coloring. As an assistant at Salon Dulay, Stephanie is excited to begin working with guests in this exciting field.
Angela moved to Orlando in 2004 to attend the University of Central Florida. While finishing her degrees, she started a career at The Walt Disney Company, which kept her in the Orlando area. After almost two decades in the entertainment industry, Angela wanted to expand her knowledge of the beauty industry. A long time customer of Aveda and admirer of the Aveda Mission, she chose to attend the Aveda Institute in Winter Park. Although she enjoyed the artistic side of working with the color line, she soon realized her experiences gave her a unique set of skills perfect for customer service. Her passions have always included bringing people joy, and working at the front desk really allows her to focus on that. She is so happy to have joined the Salon Dulay family and looks forward to growing with everyone. In her free time, she enjoys traveling the world, learning new things and spending time with her puppy, Apple.
Marissa is originally from Seattle, Washington and moved to Florida in 2015. Prior to joining the Salon Dulay team, Marissa graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Social Science and Communication. She has worked in the customer service industry for the past three years and is passionate about making sure guests are provided with the best experience possible. She enjoys the outdoors and spending time with her family and friends.
Monica, who was born and raised in central Florida, fell in love with Orlando and knew she wanted to live here at a young age. She graduated from cosmetology school in 2014 and spent the next two years doing hair behind the chair. In 2016 she was offered an opportunity to travel the country with a touring theatrical show as one of their lead vocalists and decided to take a break from the salon industry. Although Monica enjoyed being in the entertainment industry, she recently made the decision to step aside from performance and travel to get back to her salon roots. Through her experiences with entertainment and performance Monica thinks she has found her niche and her passion within customer service and is so excited to be a member of the Salon Dulay team.
Jenna is originally from Winchester, Virginia but has lived in Orlando previously. She moved back to be closer to friends and to pursue a new career path. She is looking forward to working in a different area of customer service since the majority of her past experience has been retail based, most prominently with The Walt Disney Company and Loft. She is looking forward to new challenges, opportunities, and to being a part of the team.
Jemma is from London, England and moved to Orlando two years ago with her husband and their three-year-old daughter. After completing a three-year Musical Theater course, she went on to be a professional dancer/actress for 12 years (10 of them being with The Walt Disney Company in three different locations—Disneyland Paris, Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney World). Jemma enjoys learning something new about hair every day and loves making guests feel as welcome, comfortable and relaxed as possible when they are in the salon.
Jillian was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and moved to Orlando in 2017. After years of watching the beauty industry grow, she decided to finally become a part of it. She joined the Salon Dulay team in May 2018 and is hoping to study cosmetology at the Aveda Institute Orlando in the beginning of 2019.
